[FILM REVIEW] QUANTUM OF SOLACE

QUANTUM OF SOLACE
Directed by Marc Forster
Starring Daniel Craig, Mathieu Amalric, Judy Dench
Review by Seth Rogovoy, editor-in-chief and critic-at-large, BERKSHIRE LIVING Magazine.
Daniel Craig's is a James Bond for our time -- a brooding, morose existentialist seemingly gone rogue, no longer interested (for the most part) in bedding down every pretty woman he meets nor (for the most part) getting much joy from his martinis -- hunting down the bad guys in a world where loyalty means nothing and the good guys are in bed with the bad guys more than Bond is in bed with Bond girls.
And French actor Mathieu Amalric -- who has emerged as one of the greatest actors of our time, who has a face and eyes that the movie camera adores -- is the perfect nemesis for this Bond, the embodiment of evil fighting on no one's side but only on behalf of the highest bidder, as the go-to guy for anyone who wants a government overthrown (including the CIA).
