[A HEARTBEAT AWAY: THE SARAH PALIN WATCH] The simplest juxtaposition

9.29.08
I don't watch TV, so I have no idea how political ads work on television.

But it seems to me, the simplest ad of all -- which would also work in print -- would simply say something like:

"In 230 years, XX vice presidents unexpectedly found themselves sitting in the Oval Office one day," above huge, adjacent photos of Sarah Palin and Joe Biden.

Then, underneath the photos and across the page/screen, it would say, "Who do you think is more qualified?" or "Who would rather see as Commander-in-Chief" or "Who do you think is more up to the challenge?"

Is it any more complicated than that?

Hi Seth,

Very powerful image!

It's fascinatng though that this exact image is motivating legions from the religious right to come to the polls November 4. While lukewarm about McCain, the prospect of Palin in charge (in 2016, 2012, or sooner) inspires this group.
