Café Latino Celebrates DownStreet Art Opening with After-Party and Latino Gallery Opening
(North Adams, Mass., June 13, 2008) — In collaboration with the DownStreet Art openings on Thursday, June 26, Café Latino at MASS MoCA will host the art celebration’s dafter-party beginning at 9 p.m. Cafe Latino is a sponsor of the DownStreet Arts event and will host a tasting table with Latino tacos and salads on Main Street during the downtown event, which runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Chef Omar Montoya will offer extended dinner service until 10 p.m. Beginning at 10 p.m., Café Latino’s special guest DJ Hush will kick off the evening’s revelry with dance music under the stars.
One of the few outdoor dining spots available in the Berkshires, Café Latino will officially unveil its courtyard dining under the treetops at this event. “Tree logic,” MASS MoCA’s iconic installation by artist Natalie Jeremijenko, will be the backdrop for al fresco dining all summer.
In partnership with Kolok Gallery of North Adams, this night also commences the café gallery’s summer art opening of New York-based international artists Aaron Almendral and Mariano Delgado, who have joined their talents in a collaborative venture calling themselves DNA. (www.artbydna.com) The exhibition marks one year since Kolok Gallery began selecting and installing all of the artwork for Café Latino in addition to the Mezze Restaurant Group's other venues including Mezze Bistro + Bar and allium.
Located on the MASS MoCA campus in downtown North Adams, Café Latino serves Nuevo Latino cuisine crafted by Chef Omar Montoya alongside a Latino-inspired cocktail menu and wine list. Outdoor dining is available throughout the season in the Courtyard.
The full-service restaurant is part of Mezze Restaurant Group, committed to the ‘buy local’ mission providing a wide diversity of fresh, seasonal foods from neighboring family farms, celebrating the bounty of the Berkshire region. Mezze Restaurant Group also includes Mezze Bistro + Bar of Williamstown, allium in Great Barrington and Mezze Catering, which provides full-service event design and planning
Café Latino is located at 1111 MASS MoCA Way in North Adams, Mass. For additional information or to make reservations, call 413.662.2004 or visit www.cafelatinoatmoca.com.
