ARTHUR PENN: IN CONVERSATION

4.30.07
Legendary film director Arthur Penn in conversation on Sunday, May 13

(Great Barrington, Mass., May 1, 2007) – Legendary film director Arthur Penn, the cover subject of the May issue of Berkshire Living magazine, will be the special guest at the award-winning “Rest of the Story” public forum series on Sunday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at the Triplex Cinema in Great Barrington.

Penn, a longtime Stockbridge, Mass., resident who will be honored the following weekend by the Berkshire International Film Festival with its Lifetime Achievement Award, is best known for hit films including Bonnie and Clyde, Little Big Man, The Missouri Breaks, and, of course, Alice’s Restaurant, based on the Arlo Guthrie
song and filmed in Penn's hometown of Stockbridge.

The profile of Penn in the May issue of Berkshire Living was written by editor-in-chief and award-winning critic Seth Rogovoy, who will moderate the conversation with Penn and Vanity Fair contributing editor and film historian Peter Biskind.

Film clips from a handful of Penn’s best films will be screened, allowing attendees the chance to query the director about his working method and to gain insights into his groundbreaking film techniques.

Each month, Berkshire Living, an award-winning regional lifestyle and culture magazine, and the Triplex join forces to present free public forums based on an article running in the concurrent issue of the magazine. For more information, call Berkshire Living at 413.528.3600.
