Much to Chavez's dismay, Venezuelans prefer Scotch to rum

Much to the dismay of self-styled caudillo Hugo Chavez, the colorful revolutionary leader of Venezuela, his countrymen are using the disposable income that flows from the influx of petrodollars on Johnnie Walker Red and more expensive single-malt varieties of Scotch whisky, as well as other luxuries including Porsches and Range Rovers.
In "Venezuela’s Cup Runs Over, and the Scotch Whiskey Flows" in today's New York Times, reporter Simon Romero says "Venezuelans, both young and old, often drink Scotch over a leisurely lunch, at family gatherings, at nightclubs, or as an aperitif, their ice-clinking glasses filled to the rim."
I say fill up your gas tank at CITGO (the Venezuelan national oil company) and help the revolutionaries of Venezuela drink themselves into a stupor.
