Am I the only one around here suffering from pennant fever?
Totally gunning for either a subway series against the Yankees or, equally enticing, a Mets v. Red Sox replay.
Either way, it'll make for terrific water-cooler armchair quarterbacking.
Michael, be sure to order a water cooler by the end of September....
One thing: what the hell is wrong with all the New York and greater Northeast regional papers that they seemingly haven't realized that the Mets are streaking to the pennant? You'd think the Sox and Yanks are still the only games in town, given the daily coverage, which shunts stories about the Amazin's to inside pages and short recapitulations of their games with little analyses.
I mean, the Metropolitans are even on the cover of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED this week. (note to self: get copy TODAY while there's still time)
