Critics' Roundtable on July 9

6.23.06
(Great Barrington, Mass., June 7, 2006) -- Ever wonder after reading a review of a play or concert you attended if the critic saw the same show you did? Who appointed a few critics as gatekeepers of our cultural lives? What is their role anyway?

These questions and more will be discussed at A Critics' Roundtable, part of The Rest of the Story series, the free public forum co-presented by Berkshire Living and the Triplex Cinema, on Sunday, July 9, at 11 a.m., at the Triplex Cinema in Great Barrington.

Critics participating in the event include Ed Siegel, former theater and TV critic for the Boston Globe and now a contributing editor to Berkshire Living; Richard Dyer, the Globe's longtime classical music critic; and Village Voice dance critic Deborah Jowitt.

Berkshire Living editor-in-chief and critic-at-large Seth Rogovoy will moderate the forum, which is scheduled to take place the same month that Berkshire Living's special summer performing arts issue hits newsstands. Audience members will have a chance to participate in a question-and-answer period with the critics.

Each month, the Triplex and Berkshire Living, an award-winning regional lifestyle and culture magazine, join forces to present free public forums based on an article running in the concurrent issue of the magazine. For more information, call Berkshire Living at 413.528.3600.
