Blazing Saddles screenwriter to appear at forum

11.10.05
“Blazing Saddles” screenwriter topic of forum

(Great Barrington, Mass., November 11, 2005) – What do the movies Blazing Saddles, Fletch, The In-Laws, and The Freshman have in common? They were all written by screenwriter Andrew Bergman – several of them at his home in the Berkshires – and Bergman and his work will be celebrated in “Good Humor Man: A Conversation with Andrew Bergman,” part of “The Rest of the Story” series, the free public forum co-presented by Berkshire Living and the Triplex Cinema, this Sunday, November 13, at 11 a.m., at the Triplex Cinema.

The event, moderated by Berkshire Living editor-in-chief Seth Rogovoy and featuring local writer Sheryl Lechner -- who profiles Bergman in the November/December issue of Berkshire Living -- will include a screening of highlights from a handful of Bergman’s films. The screenwriter and director will be on hand to offer insights into his work on the silver screen, anecdotes about Mel Brooks, Marlon Brando, Richard Pryor and Nicolas Cage, and to answer audience questions.

Each month, the Triplex and Berkshire Living join forces to present free public forums based on an article running in the concurrent issue of the magazine. For more information, call Berkshire Living at 413.528.3600.

I attended, participated and thoroughly enjoyed the forum w/Andrew Bergman. My wife and I intend to come to the January forum as well.

You may be interested to know that 3 years ago we bought and renovated an 1874 Victorian home in Sheffield and moved full time to the Berkshires from metro NYC. We went through 4 contractors, each one distinct and right for project phases. I knew nothing about construction or working with contractors, have learned a lot and would be willing to share my experiences. There is no rule of thumb to the construction trades; navigating the field is a combined practice using intuition, business skills and prayer.

Should you want to prequalify me for the forum or visit our home, my phone # is 229-7796.
