Independent film to be topic of free forum

10.10.05
(Great Barrington, Mass., October 10, 2005) – Independent film will be the subject of the October edition of “The Rest of the Story,” the free public forum co-presented by Berkshire Living and the Triplex Cinema, on Sunday, October 16, at 11 a.m., at the Triplex Cinema.

The event, moderated by Berkshire Living editor-in-chief Seth Rogovoy and timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the Triplex and “Cinema Verities,” an article in the October issue of Berkshire Living – a full-color, regional and lifestyle magazine -- about local, independently owned movie houses and regional film festivals, will feature a round-robin discussion with Triplex co-founder Richard Stanley and manager John Valente, film booker George Mansour, and renowned author and Vanity Fair film critic Peter Biskind, author of Down and Dirty Pictures: Miramax, Sundance, and the Rise of Independent Film.

Each month, the Triplex and Berkshire Living join forces to present free public forums based on an article running in the concurrent issue of the magazine. Upcoming events include “A Conversation with Screenwriter Andrew Bergman,” who wrote Blazing Saddles and Fletch, on November 13. For more information, call Berkshire Living at 413.528.3600.
