A Blogging Alternative

May 31, 2005
Harder to spam, comments trigger an email to owner.
Chronological archive places one story/article per page, not a continuous lengthy scroll.
Each article is a "permalink".
Each article's "title" is pegged to the headline (this is what Google reads first) for timely spidering by search engine.
Ability to override "front page article" with any desired lead article.
Admin of "static pages" and other elements (archive page copy/image, Journal opening slugline etc) via admin.
Link maker (cut and paste html)
Image uploading (cut and paste HTML tag created)
Music Upload (cut and paste HTML tag)

Commenting requires informal identification. Email is NOT required, politeness and civil decorum suggest that most people will chose to sign their comments or provide some form of signature. The progamming suggests this rather than demanding absolute compliance.

The concept of the web journal comment system is one of civil colloquy, and inappropriate comments are easily deleted (each comment sends an auto generated email to the site owner or manager, including whatever identity, name or email address the commmentor sees fit to provide).
