Sarah Palin: The Pot Calls the Kettle Black

Can Sarah Palin possibly be any more clueless – or is she nefarious and knows exactly what she's saying and doing?
In her first extensive commentary about the Tucson slayings and the controversy surrounding her “cross hairs” map targeting Rep. Gabrielle Giffords congressional district, Palin paints herself as the victim of a “blood libel” (in a video message on her Facebook page).
As the New York Times points out,
The term blood libel is generally used to mean the false accusation that Jews murder Christian children to use their blood in religious rituals, in particular the baking of matzos for Passover. That false claim was circulated for centuries to incite anti-Semitism and justify violent pogroms against Jews. Ms. Palin’s use of the phrase in her video, which helped make the video rapidly go viral, is attracting criticism, not least because Ms. Giffords, who remains in critical condition in a Tucson hospital, is Jewish.
Can Palin seriously be equating herself with Jewish victims of anti-Semitism in a cyncial attempt to swap moral places with Rep. Giffords while the latter still lies in the critical care unit of a hospital after being shot at point-blank range, with her prognosis still uncertain?
For Palin to appropriate for herself the role of victim in the tradition of centuries of victims of pogroms, massacres, and the Holocaust, is outrageous, offensive and stupid. It should basically disqualify her from being given a public platform, from being seriously considered as a spokesperson for anything or anyone other than herself, and, it goes without saying, from coming within a mile or more of being considered a potential presidential candidate.
This time, Palin shot herself in the foot, while her foot was in her mouth. She has no one to blame but herself.

Using your logic, it's Palin's fault that John Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy were shot. Give it a rest. It is apparent that those of us in the middle are the only one's with common sense. The rest of you are too blind to any other perpectives other than your own to see things as they really are...not everything is politically connected or black and white. Fred Harrison.
