Singer-songwriter Jess Klein returns to region

Singer-songwriter JESS KLEIN plays CLUB HELSINKI on AUGUST 17

(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass., July 26) -- Acclaimed singer-songwriter and former Bostonian/New Yorker Jess Klein will be returning to CLUB HELSINKI in Great Barrington, Mass., on August 17.

The bluesy folk artist recently relocated to Austin, Texas, where she is gathering inspiration and working on new material for her seventh studio album expected out in 2009, but a string of New York and Massachusetts performances shows she can’t stay away for long.

Jess Klein emerged from the Boston music scene in 1998 with her independent release, Wishes Well Disguised, but it was her 2000 release of Draw Them Near and 2005’s Strawberry Lover that would capture the attention of critics and fans worldwide. Klein has toured the US, UK and Japan with the likes of 10,000 Maniacs, Jill Sobule and Luka Bloom.

Over the past year Jess Klein has been touring in support of her latest release, Live At Mo Pitkin’s House Of Satisfaction, which was released on new model indie label United For Opportunity in summer 2007. Recorded over two shows at the famous, now former NYC venue, and featuring tracks from Klein’ two most recent releases: 2006’s City Garden (***** Mojo Magazine) and 2005’s Strawberry Lover, Live At Mo Pitkin’s captures the songstress’ most passionate bluesy-folk titles in a stripped down, solo setting.
