New Zealand's "brain" fruit derived from the gray matter of extraterrestrials
An exclusive report by Seth Rogovoy
(Great Barrington, Mass.) -- Scientists in a research kitchen in downtown Great Barrington have uncovered the shocking truth about kiwis: the fruit of the kiwi tree is actually the brains of alien creatures.
As it turns out, this wonder fruit that in recent years has been touted for its powerful punch of vitamins and minerals, antioxidant powers, and all-around healthfulness making it a "brain food," is actually a fuzzy covered green brain of extraterrestrials.
Every morning throughout New Zealand, the land of kiwis, homeowners step outside into their gardens to discover a fresh batch of kiwis spread around their plots. These latter-day hunter-gatherer types fetch all their kiwis, put them in a basket, and leave them out by the curb for the kiwi-wallah, the neighborhood wholesaler who rides his bicycle, motorbike, or small truck, gathering up the morning's crop and keeping track of the number and quality of kiwis provided by each citizen.
Thus have kiwis become New Zealand's main export, virtually synonymous with the nation itself. But a close examination of the inside of the pulpy green fruit, as in the attached photo, clearly shows the resemblance between the kiwi and a typical animal brain.
"This won't stop me from eating my daily kiwi," said Rufus Thomas, of Great Barrington, out for a stroll while walking his dog. "But it does help explain my churlish sense of alienation."
