Appalachian Trail to be focus of forum, Sunday, Aug. 19

Walking the Appalachian Trail focus of forum on Sunday, August 19
(Great Barrington, Mass., August 7, 2007) – Members of the Berkshire chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club will be on hand for a multimedia presentation and discussion about “Walking the Appalachian Trail” on Sunday, August 19, at 11 a.m., at the Triplex Cinema in Great Barrington, as part of Berkshire Living’s award-winning “Rest of the Story” free public forum series.
Ninety miles of the Appalachian Trail’s 2,175 miles runs through Berkshire County. On the occasion of the trail’s seventieth anniversary, Berkshire Living celebrates the Appalachian Trail and those who walk it and care for it in “Walk This Way” in its August special outdoor recreation issue. At the “Rest of the Story” event, trail hikers and maintainers will be on hand to share the joys of the trail running right through our backyards. Berkshire Living editor-in-chief Seth Rogovoy will moderate the event.
Each month, Berkshire Living, an award-winning regional lifestyle and culture magazine, and the Triplex join forces to present free public forums based on an article running in the concurrent issue of the magazine. For more information, call Berkshire Living at 413.528.3600.
