Wine bars, winetasting, to be focus of forum

Wine bars, tasting, to be focus of forum at Triplex on August 13

(Great Barrington, Mass., July 26, 2006) -- What the Wall Street Journal recently described as a nationwide "hot trend" is gaining a foothold in the Berkshires, with wine bars sprouting up like mushrooms throughout the region. Representatives from Berkshire wine bars including Brix and Oeno, and Wine Master Mary Ewing-Mulligan, will be on hand on Sunday, August 13, at 11 a.m., at the Triplex Cinema in Great Barrington, to take part in Fruits of the Vine, part of The Rest of the Story series, the free public forum co-presented by Berkshire Living and the Triplex Cinema.

The event, moderated by Berkshire Living editor-in-chief Seth Rogovoy and featuring wine writer Bess Hochstein -- who profiles Berkshire wine bars in "Raising the Bar" in the August issue of Berkshire Living -- will also include a free winetasting immediately following the discussion, which will include a question-and-answer period with the audience. Mary Ewing-Mulligan will also sign copies of her books, including WINE STYLES and WINE FOR DUMMIES, which will be available for sale in the lobby courtesy of The Bookloft.

Each month, the Triplex and Berkshire Living, a regional lifestyle and culture magazine, join forces to present free public forums based on an article running in the concurrent issue of the magazine. The next event, "Celebrating a Half-Century of Country Curtains," takes place on September 17. For more information, call Berkshire Living at 413.528.3600.
