ROGOVOY DOES DYLAN

5.10.06
As part of Club Helsinki's event, Forever Young: A Tribute to Bob Dylan on His 65th Birthday, on May 24th at 8, Seth Rogovoy will perform excerpts from his (lifelong) work-in-progress, The Wicked Messenger: An Intimate Journey with Bob Dylan, a memoir in story and song of life as a Dylan fan.

Joining Seth -- who in another lifetime was a Bob Dylan impersonator -- for this rare local performance is the Roaring Thundering Revue, starring drummer Willie Watkins and featuring an all-star cast of regional musicians of all sizes and shapes.

Part of a larger event that will feature performances by a host of regional musicians paying tribute to the legendary singer, musician, and songwriter, Seth Rogovoy's Wicked Messenger will kick off the evening promptly at 8 p.m.

There are no advance tickets available for this free event, and given the intimate confines of the Great Barrington, Mass., nightclub, seating is strictly limited.

To guarantee admission and priority seating for the event, please make dinner reservations at the club as soon as possible by calling 413.528.3394.

Seth Rogovoy adds:

This just in: The Roaring Thundering Revue will be joined by several special guest artists, including The Golem Girls -- violinist Alicia Jo Rabins (whose early music influences include Dylan's violinist Scarlet Rivera) and accordionist Annette Ezekiel; Lee Harvey Blotto of legendary surf/new-wave cult band Blotto; and famed rock producer and percussionist Tom Werman.

I look forward to your report on Fridays on WAMC>
I heard a group called the WIYOS on WAMC 1/27/06
and found them delightful. They will be at the 1760 Meeting House (now First Cong.Church UCC) in Shefield on Sat. June 10th at 8:00 PM. I will be happy to have comp tickets for you for the performance.
Would love to have the event mentioned on your Report. We need another $85,000 to pay off
restoration work on this historic building. Check
their website: www.thewiyos.com. I have CDs, too. Thanks!!!
