Fein thanks Dylan promoters

4.26.06.
Nearly a year after last summer's Bob Dylan/Willie Nelson concert at Wahconah Park was first announced, local concert promoter Gene Fein thanked tour promoters JAM and Mass Concerts for bringing Dylan and Nelson to Pittsfield, Mass., it was reported in today's Berkshire Eagle.

The story, titled "Clarification ," did not indicate why the expression of thanks was so long in coming.

For the last year, it has been erroneously reported that Fein was the promoter of the Dylan/Nelson show. Yesterday, in "Promoter denies rumors ," the Eagle reported for the first time that in fact the concert was staged by JAM and Mass Concerts, major national and regional tour promoters who hired Fein to take care of local arrangements for the show.

Fein is best known locally for his Berkshire Music Glen series at Bousquet Ski Area in 2004 that brought such big names as KC and the Sunshine Band and the Doobie Brothers to small audiences in Pittsfield for the first time ever.

No, Seth, Fein is locally known as the arrogant asshole who caused you grief beyond all measure when his attempts to buy puff piece journalism from the Eagle failed because you called it like it was.

He is a dilletante with more money than brains who is riding on the coattails of good folks like you and Marc Schafler who actually have contributed to the cultural richness that our Berkshires have enjoyed in the rennaissance of the last few years.
