David Bowie’s ill-fated 1993 reunion with producer Nile Rodgers gets deluxe re-release treatment in this package, with the original album plus a bonus CD of extra tracks and remixes and a DVD featuring promotional videos and a long interview with Bowie. The original “Black Tie White Noise” -- dead on arrival when the original label, Savage, went belly-up just weeks after its release -- never had a chance to catch on, even though its dance grooves harkened back to some of the biggest hits of Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” period. But it’s the DVD that fans will want, as Bowie offers penetrating, insightful commentary on his life, music and career. A must-have for hardcore Bowie fans. [ 3/21/04 ]
