Kathleen Edwards

“Live from the Bowery Ballroom” (Zoe)

On the basis of “Failer” -- her debut album that came out early this year and proved to be one of the year’s best -- Kathleen Edwards was definitely an artist to watch, combining Lucinda Williams’s rootsiness with Neil Young’s earnest grit. This novelty – a two-sided disk including three live CD audio tracks and two DVD videos – is well-timed to tide fans over until Edwards next full-length album. It features Edwards and her band rocking out like Crazy Horse on two originals and a cover of AC/DC’s “Money Talks,” suggesting she can deliver the goods on stage as well as in the recording studio.
